Graduating Flatiron School

Monday, June 8th, 2020, was Flatiron School’s eighth birthday. Starting Flatiron School with Adam has without a doubt been the most rewarding, challenging, and exciting endeavor of my life so far. With a heart full of love, I will be leaving full-time employment at Flatiron School at the end of the month.

The first and most important thing I can say is that I still fully believe in Flatiron’s mission. I am certain in the incredible team’s ability to continue changing people’s lives and paving a new path in education.

If you are an alumni, know that our community is still growing and remains committed to our values of love, passion, kindness, effort, curiosity, access, and inclusion. We will always be something you are proud of and can come back to.

If you are a current student, know that the teachers you’re working with are the best people I’ve ever worked with and are more capable than I could ever be to learn with you and help you on your journey.

If you are a prospective student, I promise that Flatiron School should still be your top choice. The school has been bigger than me ever since Joe Burgess and Rebekah Rombom joined in early 2013. Flatiron School is nothing short of magic, you won’t regret it.

The incredible team at Flatiron School is why the school has been the pathway for over 5,000 students to change careers. If you are or have ever been part of Flatiron School, know that I am entirely grateful for you and your effort. You make dreams come true. I hope that you all continue to find meaning and growth while helping people achieve what so many thought was impossible.

Thank you to all the students that put their faith in us, all the people that helped pave a new way for people to learn crucial skills and begin incredible careers, to all the alumni that create such a wonderful impact on the world, as well as all the companies that hire our graduates, and the larger community that has been so supportive.

I’ve always thought that the most important and underserved demographic in education are 18–24 year olds and I’m excited to spend the rest of the summer getting a chance to learn with them. You can check it out at Pre.College. Longer term, I have no idea what I’m going to do and I’m excited about that.

Flatiron School will always be a part of me so no matter who you are, if you think I can be helpful, you should never hesitate to reach out to me. If I can’t be helpful, I’m sure I can put you in touch with the right person at the school.

I can’t fully express how grateful and privileged I feel to have been part of such an amazing thing and so many people’s lives. Thank you.
